Short answer: a second moon could make nights brighter and tides more complicated, but the result would depend on its mass, distance, and orbit. Two moons would not automatically mean exactly twice the tides.

The night could be brighter

If the second moon reflected a noticeable amount of sunlight, many nights could be brighter. Animals that use darkness or moonlight as signals might need to adjust their behavior.

Tides could become more complicated

Our Moon’s gravity helps create ocean tides. A second moon would add another gravitational pull. Depending on where both moons were in their orbits, their effects could sometimes strengthen one another and sometimes partly oppose one another.

Eclipses could happen in new ways

With two moons following different paths, there could be more opportunities for a moon to pass between Earth and the Sun. The actual eclipse pattern would depend on the moons’ orbital planes and periods.

Could the moons crash?

Not necessarily. Planets elsewhere in our solar system have many moons. A stable two-moon Earth is possible in principle if the moons had suitable orbits, but some arrangements could become unstable over time.
